Westward Whisky
Okay, the green apple/sour apple note is only the aroma. Strongest on the flagship 90 pf and flagship cask strength , but still present under the Pinot Noir and Stout cask finishes (the Stout had a faint, pleasant, note of something roasted). The palates on the Flagship, Pinot Noir, and Flagship cask strength are predominately fruity; muted at lower abv, sweeter, but still muted in the Pinot Noir, and some how muted but more intense in the cask strength (with a spicier finish). The palate on the Stout cask came across more chocolately than fruity. Can't wait to taste the Stout finish at cask strength!
This was a great tasting set. Unfortunately when I received it the 3/4 of the cask strength bottle leaked in the box. The cask strength was my favorite, just wish it didn’t leak out. I wasn’t to impressed with the stout rested whiskey, but the other than that great set.
My first time trying out an American single malt and I was blown away. Such a different take on scotch whiskey, loved all of them. I would love to try out cask strength Stought barrel finish.
I greatly enjoyed the tasting set and the accompanying zoom. I didn't love all the whiskeys but that's the fun of sets like this, to try things out and find your palate. Would definitely buy something similar again.
