What a great tasting kit. Broad selection of desirable and unique expressions.

It was a pleasant surprise to have a handful of heritage and big name whiskies in the lineup. For me, it just confirmed the level of quality Weller and Blanton's can put forward. 13th Colony was the biggest surprise and an excellent addition for anyone who has not tried it. The rum barrel finish (sample 6 - do not remember producer) was by far the weakest link and one of the worst examples of a rum finish I have ever tried. Much too hot and thin with a disappointing finish. The custom bottles were a nice touch as well. Overall, the kit was a pleasant experience for the holiday season and a great way to celebrate what whiskey has to offer. Cheers!

I did this tasting very honestly and that's the best way to do it. Choose the bourbon you like based on the actual taste, not based on the name - what a concept. You might learn something about bourbon and your taste buds. This is the same way I do bourbon flights. I highly recommend it!
