As always, the kit was well put together and has been greatly improved by the new foam packaging, consistent bottles and labels, and decorative box. Great presentation. The whiskies were underwhelming. The cask strength rye stood out most and reminded me of a Blue Run pick from C&K. The main reason I ordered this kit (besides trying a full lineup from C&K) was to try the Vino de Naranja finished bourbon. It was disappointing. The barrels were either depleted of flavor or not finished long enough. I produced an orange sherry finished rye that is incredible compared to that and I am glad to have had the comparison to gauge our future release. I look forward to the holiday mystery kit soon. I had a great time tasting and hearing from the guys affiliated with the distillery which I visited about 5 years ago. The bourbon itself I thought was average. Looking forward to another tasting.

Excellent tasting session by Castle & Key folks. It's a great distillery revival story and excellent walk-through of the offerings by the people who know them best. The 7 year wheat is my favorite with the Rye's second. I enjoy these Prime Barrel tasting experiences.
