In our quest to find the perfect Jack Daniel’s Barrel Proof Rye, we embarked on a journey that led us to a truly unique discovery. During the selection process, we were given a rare opportunity to taste a rye aging in grooved barrels, generally reserved for the legendary Jack Daniel’s Sinatra expressions. The only problem? The Sinatra Rye line doesn’t exist—at least not yet! This “forbidden barrel” was quickly removed, but we kept a small sample as a reference. Using this exceptional rye as our benchmark, we tasted numerous barrels and, to our delight, found one that surpassed even the elusive forbidden barrel.
