In 2022, Eastern Kentucky was hit by tornadoes and floods. The inclement weather was responsible for the rising death toll and hundreds of people missing, making rescue and recovery efforts tedious.
Fortunately, our signature industry is known for stepping up in times of crisis. Kentucky distillers, private collectors, and out-of-state brands have come together again to donate exclusive private barrel experiences, rare and vintage spirits, one-of-a-kind bottles, and unique tasting and tourism offerings through a charity bourbon auction. All proceeds went directly to the State’s Official Team Eastern Kentucky Flood Relief Fund. As a club, we wanted to donate to the efforts. We decided to bid and were fortunate to win a couple of one-in-a-lifetime barrel-picking experiences: Four Roses 13-16-year-old bourbon barrel and New Riff 9-year-old bourbon barrel.
