Binder's Stash

The Prime Barrel is proud to unveil our first release from Binder’s Stash, a 9 1/2 year old Wheated Bourbon aged in experimental cooperage. This is the first of three Willett-distilled barrels selected from Binder’s Stash — and it raises the bar as one of the highest-scoring barrels ever selected by The Prime Barrel.
This isn’t random bourbon sourcing. This is a deliberate strategic alignment between Binder’s Stash and Willett Distillery — one of Kentucky’s most respected independent producers.
Binder’s Stash wheated bourbon was distilled by Willett from a mashbill of 65% corn, 20% wheat, and 15% malted barley. It was then fully matured (not merely finished) for 9½ years in a new French oak barrel, making it a true experimental cooperage release for serious collectors and flavor chasers.
French oak is all about spice and structure, contributing:
Bottled at a bold cask strength of 131.2 proof, this rare barrel features an enticing nose, a sophisticated and multilayered palate unfolding with salted caramel, dark honey, black tea, and burnt brown sugar, with notes of dark chocolate, mocha, and dense baking spice, all wrapped in French oak, and a long, satisfying finish.
This barrel is different; it’s not a finishing experiment. It is full-term maturation in French oak — bold, intentional, and rare.
And it’s only the beginning.
Barrel One of Three. Willett-distilled. Binder’s Stash curated. Hand-selected by The Prime Barrel.
