For over 25 years, Scott Leopold and Todd Leopold have revived pre-Prohibition distilling traditions, moving their operation to Denver in 2008 and building one of the most innovative craft distilleries in America—now producing more than two dozen spirits with a relentless focus on quality and authenticity.

Leopold Brothers Three Chamber Rye is defined by intentional, old-world production methods:

Three Chamber Still – A resurrected pre-Prohibition design, used for the first time in over 50 years, the three chamber still uses high heat, high pressure, and extended distilling time to extract dense oils and complex aromas—creating a viscous, full-bodied rye whiskey with unmatched texture

80% Abruzzi rye - A heritage rye grain grown just 25 miles from the distillery that was used pre-prohibition, delivering intense, complex aromatics

20% In-House floor malted barley - Hand malted and gently kiln dried to preserve delicate flavor compounds

Proprietary yeast blend - A custom fermentation profile that unlocks layered floral and fruit-forward complexity

Low barrel entry proof (100 proof) - Entering the barrel at a lower proof retains rich oils and amplifies mouthfeel, resulting in a more concentrated, flavor-driven whiskey

Dunnage style barrel house - An earthen floor rickhouse that increases humidity by 20-30% in Denver’s dry climate, slowing evaporation and enhancing balanced, long-term maturation

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose:  Like walking into a flower shop - floral clover, lavender, green tea leaves, wildflower honey, trace of honeydew, and soft, aromatic clove
