We tasted the barrels blind to savor the classic Russell’s Reserve notes of sweet oak, caramel, and baking spice without any preconceived notions.  After a lively discussion, we narrowed it down to two barrels, ultimately selecting Barrel #3 for its exceptional qualities.

This 8 1/2-year-old private barrel showcases the legendary Russell family tradition. It was distilled on 2/21/17 and aged on the 4th floor of Tyrone M rickhouse.  Tyrone M’s more open floor plan enhances airflow, accelerating maturation with more dramatic temperature and humidity swings while extracting rich, complex flavors.
