Founders Michael Lahalih and John Pals have shared a deep bond since their university days, united by their love for bourbon and films. The moniker "Lucky 7" takes inspiration from the renowned Stage 7 in Hollywood, CA, which witnessed the creation of some of cinema's iconic masterpieces. This massive filming location birthed numerous celebrated movies, making it fondly dubbed the “Lucky Stage 7” by industry insiders.
This is a distinct Bourbon whiskey from a single barrel, enhanced in fresh French Oak Barrels. Introducing Single Barrel #3. Now, at The Prime Barrel, we have a complex love-hate dance with bourbons finished in wine barrels. More often than not, we veer away from them, as many exhibit overpowering oak tones or present with an exceedingly dry and tannic nature. Yet, when this marriage of bourbon and wine is executed with finesse, the result can be one of the most distinct and tantalizing bourbons on the market. And that's the twist – when they're crafted just right, we at The Prime Barrel don't hesitate but leap forward to embrace them.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Molasses, maple syrup, spiced cider, oak, slightly dusty (think rickhouse smell)
- Palate: Fresh riped fruit-forward, fresh pear, apple, apricot, spicy on the back palate
- Finish: long, spicy, floral at the end.
