This whiskey is made from an unusual 100% rye, of which 50% was raw and 50% was malted. A sour mash was used, and it was triple distilled. For the first round of aging, it went into a 53-gallon ISC brand barrel with a char #3 at 125 barrel entry proof. For the sauternes finishing, it was aged in a 225L French oak sauternes cask. The end result is a 123.1 proof sauternes finished rye whiskey with loads of depth.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSince this was a joint pick with the Breaking Bourbon crew, we wanted to come up with a sticker that incorporated both names. Incorporating “Law” into the concept in some way made perfect sense, and we immediately landed on something that revolved around “Breaking the Law\" and \"The Prime Barrel\" concepts.
